And my contribution to this project as a Lead Artist. Below is the trailer:
"In this board-based deckbuilder roguelike, take on the role of Midnight, a lost nightmare trying to escape a child's dream world. With nightmare minions at your disposal, battle your way through legions of dream protectors!"
Trials of Midnight is a mobile game developed by 6 college game developers in the span of 12 weeks under MassDigi SIP program. As the Lead Artist of the team, I provided guidance and vision; facilitated an effective pipeline; Designed characters and environment; created several in-game and promotional illustration; and aided in production and management.
Before the team started to create any assets, I went through extensive ART STYLE EXPLORATION.
Our challenge is 3-fold:
Large scope with limited time
Establish a horror-cute style that fits our unique story
Consistency in execution
We eventually settled on a style that is dark but intimate, and is dividable into a 3-part pipeline.

This very effective 3-PART PIPELINE is one of our team's greatest achievement and handiest tool!
With this structure I devised, the three artists were able to work coherently like a conveyer belt, and were able to produce 30+ animated characters in 2 weeks. We even had time to reiterate!
I am personally in charge of the CONCEPT section of the pipeline, using my unique design language and coherent color strategy to help the art stand out while being consistent.
